I'm really excited about the upcoming photo book contest and I hope some of you are too. I've seen such talented work from members of our community that I'm really looking forward to seeing some of the submissions. I'm also looking forward to the success of this contest creating the opportunity for more such contests in the future.

Even if you aren't certain whether you'll be putting in a submission for the contest, do take the opportunity to share your favorite books in our gallery forum.  When we start getting a reasonable number of submissions, we'll kick off a photo book of the month initiative whereby one of you will win prizes each month just for sharing your work.

We'll be providing downloadable icons for contest or monthly winners to add to their site or blog that can also serve as links to your winning entry. It certainly can't hurt your business or your personal reputation as a photographer to have your work recognized for an award. Those who wish it and provide us with the info can also have a profile added as a footer to their prize winner announcement. That way people will know more about the winner and how to contact them, which may end up sending some business your way.
