Questions About Help, Photobooks, etc...

Hello,

I just have a few questions which I am unable to find any answers to.

1) I tried to use your Live Chat. According to the sidebar, chat was online but when I tried to use it, this is what I received:

Welcome to AdoramaPix! An online representative will be with you shortly. You are number '1' in the queue. Your wait time will be approximately '0' minute(s) and '30', seconds. Thank you for waiting.

You are now chatting with 'David Feinstein Live Chat Site operator / Customer Care representative'

Your Issue ID for this chat is LTK14909999434X

Jess: Hello David.

Jess: I just have a few questions about the Help section of the forums and the photobook editing program.

David Feinstein Live Chat Site operator / Customer Care representative: This is the Customer Service Department. We're sorry we do not have ADORAMAPIX Live chat operators currently available to answer your questions. However you could contact Adoramapix directly, by calling them at 1- 888-216-6400 They would be more then happy to assist you with your questions and or Concerns.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may be causing you, and appreciate your understanding. You could also contact them via email  PHOTOLAB@ADORAMA.COM

2) I asked a question in the past week and never received any sort of reply. Maybe I'll get a reply here. What is the UV Coating option I see listed on the photobook pricing guide? $38 for the larger book and zero explanation anywhere as to what it is, if you should have it, why you should have it, etc. Nothing in the help section or forums that I can find.

3) The help section of the forums. There are a terrible number of inconsistencies within the help section vs what you actually provide in the editing program. Is the help section written for a future version? A past version? Am I using an old version (even though its on your site, would be a bit odd)? Example: WHen you talk about the toolboxes, you state that if you click outside the workspace, the project toolbox will appear. That is true but what it doesn't have are the general options. I can't set font type, size, borders, shadow, etc. I have to do it manually for EVERY SINGLE IMAGE unless I copy my spread and paste it. I like what I see with your company but I have a huge issue with the program to create photobooks themselves. Its a real pain in the rear end to constantly have to change every photo individually. I notice a Layout section with ZERO layouts in it and no idea how to add them or get them.

One thing I really liked about the MyPublisher software from another company was that you could select the number of photos you wanted on a page then pick a default layout for those and still have the ability to move them around. What I'd like to see is the ability to create a spread and then save it in the Layout section. I use about a half dozen different spreads and each time I have to scroll back to one of the pages I used it on, copy the spread, paste it on a new page then begin doing any minor editing or changes. It is a lot of extra work in that department.

4) I saw a post about grunge frames. How come they don't appear in my list? I only have 24 frames in my list. I would think that with over 500 backgrounds there would be more than 24 frames. Also, why can't I change the color of a frame?

5) Within the Help section, I'm unable to click on any of the "links" and sometimes images that are mentioned in the help section don't even appear.

Thanks for your time,

Jess

Hi Jessie, I'll try and address your questions.

1. I don't believe the chat operators are there 24 hours. I will find out what their hours are and try to get that information to be printed on the chat request window.

2. The UV coating is a protective coating which makes your pages more durable and resistant to moisture. I'll get an official description of the advantages of the coating tomorrow and post it.

3. Inconsistencies in the help files largely came about during a major release a couple of months ago which made some substantial changes to the UI. We're trying to catch all the differences in the help files, but so many changes were made that we're still playing catch up. If you see an error or inconsistency just make a comment and we'll fix them asap. Thanks! With regards to the layout feature you are describing - we refer to that as generic layouts and its in development at this very moment. You're likely to see an initial implementation in the next major update.

4. The grunge frames are actually stickers. Because the grunge textures have an irregular pattern, we are unable to make them scale dynamically the way our frames do at present. If you open the stickers tab and type frame, a number of options will be revealed. As for why there are so few frames, they simply weren't a popular feature so we expended more effort on the areas that were more in demand. We are however working on an upgrade to the frames which should make them more flexible.

5. If you find a broken link, just make a comment and I'll fix em asap!

Thanks!

AL

In response to your question Jessie, the protective coating provides added resistance to scratches, moisture and fading.
