What paper do you prefer??

What paper do you prefer, do you prefer a certain type of image to printed on glossy and another on matte or luster?  Let me know what your preference is.  

I personally love luster as it give me some shine but isn't to flat like matte, I find that the colors and black and whites really pop on it.

For me:

Matte, Silk:

  • Black 'n White photography, any subject or content.

Metallic

  • Photos with predominant earth tones, specifically the ones matching earth-colored metals (copper, bronze, gold)
  • Photos with the least amount of white / light gray shades (due to lower contrast of the paper)
  • Photos with certain gem-stone coloration, primarily green (it looks like emerald).
  • Staying away from regular yellow colors
  • Staying away from anything where shadow detail is important (lower contrast / dynamic range again)
  • Staying away from humans

Glossy

  • Anything that's bright and colorful, and does not match conditions under Metallic category.

I used to use Lustre quiet a bit but gave up on it. Most of my subject matter fits pretty well into Metallic category, with the rest of colorful stuff going to Glossy. On an occasion when I make B&W photos, its always Matte, and I experimented with Silk while AdoramaPix had it on clearance.
