Assets for your projects

Your photo project is made up of a collection of assets. In addition to your own photos, AdoramaPix provides you with an extensive library of other assets you can use to embellish your project. These assets include:

  • Backgrounds for your pages.
  • Embellishments such as stickers.
  • Frames to go around your photos.
  • Text captions.

The asset browsers are simply a way for you to look through the collections of assets available to you and select the ones you want to use in your project. Along the left side of the PixBuilder editor you will see a number of grey bars. Each bar has the name of an asset type at the left side, and the number of that type of asset available to you on the right side. E.g. In the example below, the first bar reads Images (the type of asset) and 81 (the number of images available).

Clicking on one of the gray bars will open a panel beneath it that displays thumbnails of that asset type and closes whatever other panel was open. Most of the panels have three settings along the top. These settings are:

  1. The search box. Type in a word and press the ENTER key and and only assets with keywords or a name matching that word will be displayed. E.g. Love, blue, wedding, bird, etc.
  2. Thumbnail size. Click on the large or small icon to display large or small thumbnails of your assets.
  3. Categories. A pull-down menu that lets you select from some common categories E.g. Wedding, Kids, Birthday, Sports, etc.

The Images Panel

The settings on the images panel are slightly different from the others, as can be seen below. There is no search box and the category pull-down has been replaced with the sorting method you prefer to use for your photos. Custom sorting (the default) means that the photos are sorted in whatever order you placed them in as opposed to by date, or by name. This allows you to move your images around however you like.

There are also two buttons: import images and auto-fill. These options will allow you to go back and get more photos, or automatically add your photos to any empty photo placeholders in the book.

Selecting Assets

Once you find the assets you want, using them is easy. Just left click on a thumbnail, drag the thumbnail over to one of your project pages, and release the mouse button. The asset you selected will be dropped at that location.
