There are six steps in the process of creating a book as shown below.

The first of the six steps in creating a photo book or calendar is the setup step. This is when you choose the parameters for your project such as:
You should give some thought to your choices during this step since changing your mind later may result in you losing much of the work you have put into your book. For example if you choose a 4x6 portrait shaped pocket book and change your mind later to decide you want an 8x12 landscape shaped coffee table book, the layouts are so completely different that you would have to start over.
Keep in mind that you can always other sized books that share the same aspect ratio. This is called downsizing.
